Rękopis był własnością Samuela Rocheblave'a. Przez jakiś czas znajdował się w Stanach Zjednoczonych. André Delpierre zakupił go w domu aukcyjnym The Scriptorium w Beverly Hills (USA) w 1976 roku. W1986 roku zdecydował sprzedać go Towarzystwu im. Fryderyka Chopina w Warszawie za pośrednictwem antykwariatu Erasmushaus- Haus der Bücher z Bazylei. Zakupiony w 1987 roku. Od 2005 roku depozyt Towarzystwa im. Fryderyka Chopina w Narodowym Instytucie Fryderyka Chopina.
